DALLAS — Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott suffered a torn ACL in his left knee Sunday night and is expected to miss the rest of the season.
Elliott left the game in the second quarter after sustaining a right knee injury.
The team said Elliott’s recovery was “progressing.”
Cowboys coach Jason Garrett confirmed Elliott’s injury, which he described as “minor.”
“We’re all disappointed in Ezekiel,” Garrett said Sunday.
“We’re disappointed in the injury and the timeline.
We want to give him a chance to get through this and make sure that he’s healthy.
We’ll be watching him in the coming days and weeks.”
Elliott was the Cowboys’ top rusher with 1,027 yards rushing and 10 touchdowns.
